I was just wondering how many people on here think of weed as a coping mechanism.
I mean- when I have weed it's usually because I've had a crap day, and ned to escape, and when I do smoke it... I'm not me. I'm some one looking down on me. I feel no pain, no emotion... I'm free.
PS- Sorry if I posted this in the wrong place... it seemed the most fitting...

Don't worry about where you post! As long as it related to the topic of the board it's all good. If your really unsure just post in the Have a problem? board.
Anyways when I was like 13-16 I was a huge pot head and it did help at the time but I realized nothing was different when I wasn't high so I smoked and smoked but I couldn't be high 24/7 for the rest of my life. It got to the point where I didn't even get high anymore. I stopped and don't do it anymore. I kind of hate it now. The smell especially!
It can be used but I don't see it as helpful since all your problems are still there in the end.

to me it is a coping mechanism. for the moments that it is effective you know!! but as she said it wont do anything to actually help, but it does make you feel good lol!

Like they said. It helps for the moment. I wouldn't use it to cope there is better ways and less expensive ways to help yourself.

I use it as a coping mechanism. it calms me down and makes me feel so relaxed. I loosen up and i laugh and sure i dont know what the *beep* is going on, but i feel so free. i dont really know how else to cope with a bad day or after i get in a fight with my parents. i feel this urge to go out and get high and wasted.

Exactly! But after being off it for a few weeks, I've realised it wasn't actually doing any thing.. sure, I was on a high for a few hours... but after that, I crashed down, so all in all, it was harming me, in more ways than one. I'm just glad I've stopped

Well, uh, it works for the moment if u just need to relax. It's helped me clear my head so I could sort stuff out. Just as long as you know it's only temporary and ur just stalling.
