Listen for a bit.
I cut as well. It's true. I try to dismiss it. I tell my friends I don't. But I do. If my girlfriend finds out she'll kill me. No she won't. She'll be worried sick and I can't let that happen. Or my parents will be worried sick.
I know if you're reading this, maybe you're in the same boat as me. There are alternatives to cutting, though. Cutting leaves scars. Scars stay forever. You know how you're in the state of mind, when you want to cut because it's a temporary release? There are better ways.

- Draw on yourself with a red pen. It looks like blood (in some ways), and the feeling is still there. The advantage is that you can draw patterns into yourself or just cut lines, but there'll be no scarring. And when you see the red marks you'll realise what you did and thank yourself it wasn't permanent.
- Get an ice cube and press it into your hand. This really hurts. It's really effective. The advantage is that there's not lasting marks or permanent damage. Just don't get frostbite.
- Channel your depression into rage. I know, it can be done. Go outside, far away from everyone, and break something. I mean really break it. Whether it's a stick, a plank of wood, a CD, a pen, something. Break it. Destroy it. Then you can throw it away. It's the same as cutting because essentially you're destroying yourself. This way you're breaking somthing else and the pain still goes away.
- Pray or meditate. For those who are religious, you can ask God for help, and you will be answered.
