No way. Spanking isn't to do with sexual assault. I hate it how people can always hide behind this 'blanket' of sexual assault. If a male punishes a female, it's sexual assault. Supposedly. Doesn't matter if she deserved it. Personally, I think spanking is discipline. Kids are getting so soft these days (ask your parents). I'd rather be spanked than have, say, food taken away from me, or kept in solitary confinement. These things cause aggravated psychological damage to one's mind. Whereas being hit is a one off thing, quick; afterwards all's forgotten. I'd rather have physical scars than mental ones.
Whoa i couldn't have said it better myself!!
I completely agree with you. People do always use sexual assault as an excuse to eliminate spanking as a punishment!

My dad threatens to smack me at times (I am VERY cheeky) I talk back etc and sometimes (rarely now, I am almost 14) he gets his slipper or his hand and hits me on the thigh or something I don't think that is sexual assault or anything but I think it's unecessary. In England a law/rule passed that no parent can hit a child AND leave a bruise or mark (my dad totally ignored that one ) But I think he doesn't need to hurt you ESPECIALLY with your pants/trousers down. My mum never hits me and we still get along. Hmmm is it just the father's that use physical punishment.............?

For me, it was (is) both parents, but far more often my father. Is this a general trend?

When I was little, I used to get spanked by my stepdad. I guess it was normal then, but sometimes if he is really angry he still does. Last night, for example, I talked back to him and said something rather mean. He told me to go to my room, and I knew what was coming. He came in and, as usual, we talked about it, and I apologized. Then, he took off his belt. I had to pull my pants down and lie on my bed. He held my back down, and spanked me for a long time, then left. Is it totally not normal to be spanked at 14 years of age? It is absolutely humiliating. So, I was just wondering what you think of all this, and how do you feel about spankings for kids my age, and on the bare butt? thanks. Yes it is normal for kids to be spanked at 14... In my opioion being spanked every now and then when you are growing up is ok as long as the parent doesn't go overboard with it... I also feel like it helps to teach you to become a better person when you get older...

Well I'd never spank my child!!! I was never spanked because my mom doesn't really believe it's the only way that you can disiplin She only spanked my brother(once) when he was little. I personally don't exactly think spanking is a punishment...it's kind of abuse to me. I mean my cousins get spanked a lot(when one of them was little there were news reporters there trying to take a picture of her butt because it was so bad..). So in my opinion spanking is a form of abuse and there are other ways around it with young aged children and teens.

OK, well... with your pants down and being spanked I think it is sexual. Some dads like to see there children "Naked". I think it would've been OK if your pants would've been up. I got spanked until I was 6... Though my dad still beats me up -harshly speaking-. I think its playful... Sorry to rant about my life.
