Okay, well I got an underage drinking ticket a few months ago and so the judge made me sign up for this alcohol program. I have to go to it twice for two hours. Today is my first day going, and I was just wondering if anyone knew what they're gonna do.

I've been signed up to go with adults instead of teens because I would've had to go to a different county. It's just kind of making me nervous that i'm going to be in a group of adults by myself talking about alcohol. I haven't really found anything online either.

Well its 2 times for 2 hours so only 4 hours out of your life you will be there. I say just go and get through it and it will be over before you know it. Usually you don't even have to talk you can just sit and listen. I tried googling it but I could only find long term rehab centers lol.

I was looking up alcohol programs in my area and I kept seeing drug and alcohol rehab. I don't need rehab for months!! lol I'll feel really stupid if it's one of those things where they hand out worksheets and books and go around the room saying the answer. It'll be like, A: Blackout is when you've consumed so much alcohol you go into temporary amnesia. It's gonna be little me with all these 40 years olds. I wonder what they're gonna think of me..lol. Oh geez.

I'm baaack! It honestly was actually a lot of fun. It was mostly 18 years olds but there were a couple younger people. The instructors were so hilarious and honest. We started off showing someone our social security number and our ticket. They asked us some questions like, have you done alcohol or any drugs in the past month, or are you pregnant. I think the lady thought I was lying when I said I hadn't done any drugs. She said, "Really? No drugs at all?" All surprised and with a look on her face. I started laughing when she looked at me all weird, so she probably thought I was lying. But really, just because I got a drinking ticket doesn't mean i'm into getting high or taking pills. If anything, she should be surprised I hadn't had any alcohol because, after all, I was there because of alcohol. Then we went around the room and told our story about how we ended up in the program. The people there weren't judgmental at all or anything. Erm, they handed out lots of worksheets in the end for us to read, we have a short essay due, and did a little quiz. I met some really cool people there. The guys were absolutely gorgeous. lol They were all holding the door open for me and telling jokes...and I have one more class that i'm actually looking forward too. ;D The instructor people would let anyone volunteer to talk about anything alcohol related, and then they would tell stories about what they did when they were younger...and some stories were pretty funny. They don't spend the whole time preaching about how we're not allowed to drink. They actually listen to what we have to say. Of course, they go through all the reasons about why not to drink, but they never blame anyone. It was a very good experience. In the end you know, the stuff they tell you starts sinking in, and you don't leave the class thinking it was stupid. They try to relate to you, and you feel that you can really talk to everyone. I'm glad I went to the class.

I always worry over nothing. I think I was more anxious that I was assigned in an older group, but the oldest people there were only 18 so it's not so bad. I saw my school's janitor there, but I don't think she recognized me. I get to go again on the 10th. I have to write an essay that can be about anything as long as it's related to alcohol. They're going to show it to the court to see my progress, so i'm trying to think of something good. Anyone have any ideas? I'll keep you guys updated about how my next time goes.

Cool! It all seemed to work out then. I wonder why it would be Adults and then only be 18 yr olds. I would of thought 19+ lol. I guess it would of been a bit ackward if everyone was 40 or so. (Harder to relate) but you got off well.
What kind of story? Something that happened to you when you were drunk? I saw a thread about drunk driving somewhere, possibably you could use that?
On a side not Im happy you've stopped drinking.. You have right? haha
