In one year of using only the birth control pill, 8 women will get pregnant with "typical use" (meaning they don't always take their pills at the same time, they sometimes forget, etc.); with "perfect use," that number goes down to 0.3.

A couple hours late doesn't count as "missing a pill," so it's okay (UNLESS you are taking "mini-pills", which are a special kind of pill that have to be taken at the very same time each time -- most birth control pills are "combination pills" and there is a much larger window of time in which to take them).
It's unlikely that anything will go wrong if you are a couple hours late. After all, if you totally forget a pill for a whole day, you can take two the next day and still be protected. BUT, it's best to get in the habit of taking it at the same time every day, so that you won't forget to take it or get confused as to where you are in your cycle.
