I have really bad cystic acne since I was younger. I only have it on my back. I went to the doctor and got a cream for it and I used it for about 4 months. Well, it didn't work.....Last night I got up to get a drink of water and I walked past my mirror. I had a huge spot of blood on my shirt about the size of a ping pong ball. What I found out, was that if I lay on my back the cystic acne will burst and bleed a lot. www.acneinfo.org/Images/acne8.jpg <---------this, is what it looks like. I have a wierd type of cystic acne which makes the pus inside it turn into a very hard round ball. The only way to get rid of it is to squeeze the ball out but since it's on my back the doctor doesn't recommend it. The doctors keep telling me to use the cream, which I am, but it's starting to piss me off.

picking will only make it worse. I suggest just leaving it and doing as the doctors say.

Well, I don't pick them at all. They just burst open by themselves. I have been using the cream they gave me for about 4 months now.

Are there any other options or creams or medications or whatever available?

Have you told him they cream is not working? A good thing to do is keep the area very clean, Shower daily maybe two times a day so oil doesn't build up and make it worse. Don't wear dirty clothes or wear the same shirt twice. Give it awhile and see how that goes but in the mean time talk with your doctor about it. Are you seeing a dermatologist?

Hahaha "Tell yer doc to make you better or he's fired " thats a good one, maybe it will work? Did he mention how long it will take? Sometimes you have to do something constantly on a regular basis for X amount of time for it to kick in and to start seeing improvement. A dermatologist is a great Idea even if you get checked out just to see what the have to say. If your doctor now is a dermatologist I would get a few different opinions.

Maybe try talking to your docter and see if there are any alternative options to using the cream. I doubt any cream is supposed to take 1/3 of a year.
