I'm a freshman in high school. I chose this school cause-- well, first of all, I got in, and it's a geek school, but mostly because I figured there would be less social boundary-ness and I hate being divided from people who could be cool to me so as it is... It's definitely not what I expected, lol, but my friends are of all sorts with a common thread: we're crazy. But we like it. Anyway, I just had to rant and get thoughts, so here goes: My school did the most cheesy-teen-romance-novel cliche-like thing of all time today. They gave out these scantron questionaires called "iflurtz" (with odd capitalization) and had whoever wanted fill them out and hand them in during lunch. They're going to pair up people with similar answers. It was chaos, I tell you! Who set their paper on fire, who put stupid answers, who wanted to get who.. god. I was surprised. But it was cool, I guess, to look for a match. But still. You also get to see how compatible you are with everyone in the school, or at least that's what it said on the flyer. Tuesday will be an odd day. So.. to make this open for discussion.. has anyone's school ever supported soemthing you found really surprising? Or has high school gone totally and completely cliche on anyone when they didn't expect it to?

I never had anything like that in High-school. The only thing that came close to that was voting for the year book, Most popular, Class clown etc.

Well...not having year books etc. in Australia - I have never come accross something like that. Sounds like a lot of fun, but I doubt much permanent good would come out of it.

Perth has yearbooks? Thats a suprise I thought nation wide we were all the same in not having anything like that. Do you have a prom too?
I was runner up for "most likely to hack the school server", but that was in final assembly not a year book.

Prom and our formal were very different. For one thing - no King and Queen stuff.
