I need someone to talk to, i just held a screwdriver up to my wrist and was ready to pull it acrosed. but i droped it and broke down crying. I havent cut in over 6 weeks. and i cant go back now. i dont knwo why i wanted to cut but i did and this has been hapening a lot lately.

no i dindth cutt just wanted to really badly, and life has been great recently im talking to alll my friends, and where trying to plan something for this summer and i dont know whats wrong and would wnat me to cut.

why dont you write down all the feelings inside when you have the urges? or write down why you want to if you know...?

I hope you're coping with the urges.
It's only natural to miss it, I speak from experience. It's like your body needs to feel the things that it made you feel. But don't give into them. As you said your life is quite good at the moment, don't let cutting get in the way.

I do the same thing. I haven't cut in about 6 weeks, and I just get urges where I want to and I can see where I would cut and sometimes I trace over my scars with red pen just to see cuts on me... but when you feel like you want the cuts back.... STOP!! Remember that it's a passing urge, and you've gotten so far!! 6 weeks is a long time to resist cutting, and it's a really good accomplishment. I know it is, it's a long way to come. You can make yourself proud by not giving into it and making that time longer than 6 weeks. You don't want to give in to an urge that's going to pass... think of how good you'll feel when the urge is gone and you didn't cut. You are strong, stronger than cutting, you can make it through and then go be with your friends and do all the things you love to do, and you won't have to think about hiding cuts or cutting again. When you feel like this, it's good to stop and ask yourself these things:
How do I feel?? (scared, angry, etc.) Why do I feel this way, and did anything happen to make me feel like this?? (if you write down your feelings, you might be able to figure out why you feel bad) What do I love?? (hobbies, people, etc.) How can I use what I love to make me feel better?? (call someone or write a poem or something) Why would I want to cut when I have these other things that I love?? I don't love cutting. LAST... GET UP and go do something you love!! Or even go take a shower or something... just don't sit there!! It gets so much worse when you sit around.

try writting your feelings down on a peice of paper, and ripping/crumpling it up? i heard that it almost always works!

i made it less than an hour away from six weeks and then i broke it. i cute at 11:20 at night. trust me i regret it more than you can imagine because it only brings every urge back more and a lot stronger. you will find yourself in the same old patter in no time. i dont want to see that happen to any of you like it has me. just remember you WILL regret it. i suggest keeping a log of any time you think about it, sort of like mentioned above, where you write down what you are feeling, the time and date, your location, what makes you want to do this, what will result from doing it, what action you took (if you cut or else what you did instead) and the outcome of that action. look for patterns and maybe you will find a common feeling or thing that you were thinking about that makes you feel that urge and hopefully you can change it. good luck and hang in there!! many hugs, ~karlee
