43! Are you sure she loves you? How can you tell? I must say, usually I'm not too bad on age gaps.... but wow. Sorry... trying to keep an open mind.... Do you parents know? What do they think about it? Back to the subject after my wee lecture.... If you really love her and she really loves you, just say it. If it's what you feel, and she loves you, then it should turn out ok.

Eeek.. Maybe its not what your saying comes out the wrong the way. Maybe its because of the age difference. She could be expecting you to say something different that a 43 yr old would like to hear. This happened with a friend of mine who was 18 (he was a guy) dating a women who was 47 - The girl never loved him and it was mistaken for lust. He was attracted to her more then he was a girl his age because he never had a great mother of his own.
I guess it all depends on the person if it will work or not but anyways, What kind of things come out the wrong way?
Since you haven't had much experiance in relationships how can you tell she loves you or you love her? You have only been with one guy, how do you know you want to be with a girl? Maybe try other things out first before comitting to something that would be serious because of her age.

Dear Sky:
You can try writing her a letter. Letters can be edited, so you don't have to be afraid of what to say. This should also be easier on your nerves, because you don't have to say it to her face.

maybe because you havent reached that comfort level with her... she probably has more experience with relationships thats why she expresses herself more to you--because she has a comfort with expressing herself (if you get what i mean) just give yourself time to get comfortable and it will eventually get easier for you
