My friend told me yesterday that she likes someone 2 years younger than her. She's 14 and he's 12. I personally don't think it's right....It's just kind of......wierd........what do you guys think?

Well my best friend once liked someone that was 2 years younger then her also but he never liked her. Usually the younger one doesn't take interest because he/she hasn't completely become mature.
My personal opinion 2 years apart isn't a big deal but when their that age it could be weird.

It's fine for a girl to date a younger guy expecially when it's only two years apart. My friend is dating a guy who's younger then her and she's 16, he's 15. It shouldn't be a big deal as long as they both like each other.

Well, when they are older it wouldn't be too big of a deal. If she was 18 and he was 16 it would be illegal.

illegal. But that's the problem, her parents don't care and his parents aren't comfortable with it.

That's what I thought. Thats how it is in England (I think). If their parents are ok with it and so are they I don't see any reason why not?

well here, in Australia, you are allowed to have sex when you are over 16, and you are allowed to get married at 16 with perental consent. nobody cares if a 12 year old is going out...
On the subject, I think it is okay for there to be a girl dating a younger boy, but I do think that 12 is a bit young to start dating. If he was 15 and she was 17 it would be okay, because they both would probaly be a bit more in touch with their hormones then.

Well if he isn't so comfortable with it then i suggest you talk to her about it. You cant make her not like him but you can help her make decisions and not make stupid and or wrong chooses about this.

Sparkles got a point...Most young kids dont knoe true relation ships but some do! Seeing movies or friends in relation ships has an impact on them and they tend to repeat it.
