This is the thing, though. We are getting messages all the time, through TV and other media. You're right - it does indeed objectify women and try to put forth the point that "sex is great! omg lol we need more sex!". You have people who write books on the subject: "Well Katie, what does this all mean?" "It means we should all have more sex lol!".
But the problem is that stupid people are actually buying these books. They take television seriously. They think sex is all-encompassing, that it's everything, and that "everyone's doing it". Even thought hey aren't. And again, you get people who wear their sexual status as a 'badge of honour'. This is sickening to me.
The thing is, sex, as it was originally intended, is simply a mechanism to keep the tiny, dwindling tribe of humans going. The sexual urge had to be there or else humans would die out.
But nowadays, the world has humans firmly in place. We're not going anywhere anytime soon. Indeed, the world is becoming overpopulated. We have too many humans. Why? Too much sex. We don't need sexual impulse anymore, because humans aren't in danger of becoming extinct. Oh no. Instead we see the opposite happening.
The sexual urge is an outdated mechanism designed to increase the short supply of humans at that time. It is now obsolete. We don't need it anymore. It can be regulated and controlled. If it can be regulated and controlled, then why do people continue to have sex?
It all comes back down to the media image of sex = cool. And I for one do not want these people growing up to be adults. I want them removed from the gene pool, to cleanse it of stupidity.
Then how do we fix this?
And by 'sex', I don't just mean the actual act. I mean the whole encompassing idea of it. You look around. You see preteenaged girls in skimpy clothing. I've never actually talked to one before, but from what I can tell they're completely shallow, stupid and very *friendly* personty. Why are people like this? Do they want sex? Why? Is it because the media and their friends tell them it's cool? It's fun?
I mean, why do people want to so badly? So, okay, let's say someone goes ahead and does it. Are they now better than you or me? Are they? No, in fact they're the same person they were yesterday. Yet they walk around with an undeserved sense of accolplishment. Congratulations, mate. You've succeeded in being JUST LIKE EVERYONE ELSE. Congratulations. Conform till the day you die. Buy all the latest fashion 'trends', get all the 'chicks', 'score', your life is hollow and meaningless.
I hope you understand where I'm coming from, biancasaur. (By the way, those comments were not directed at you, but at that random over there. See him? He's the one making out with his girlfriend. He's drinking underage, and he looks at porn.)

As for your big question, Why do people feel compelled to have sex? ... Well, I don't want to ambush you with personal questions, but are you saying you've never felt sexual desire? I think most people want to have sex simply due to their physical sex drive, and I do believe it's possible to have a sex drive at a very young age -- let's say 13 or 14. As we know, people are developing a lot earlier these days.

Again, I'm sorry you've been getting this message... all I can say is that, I hope these people grow up one day and come into the real world, and become adults!

What disgusts me is that young people are growing up thinking that what they're seeing on MTV is an accurate portrayal of sex, and it's definitely NOT.
