Last year during school I started to smoke pot with my friends. When summer break came I didn't talk to them as much thus, I didn't smoke pot. Now schools starting and I will be meeting up with them since the walk to school is the same as theres no matter what, before and after school as well as classes together etc. I don't want to avoid them, They are my friends but I also don't want to smoke pot of have myself smelling like it because they are smoking it. I really don't know what to do. School starts in less then 2 weeks now.

Just say 'no thanks.' You can't give in to peer pressure! Just tell them, and if they are real friends they'll accept your decision!

I agree with Sparkle. If they are your true friends then they will understand

Crayon I really like your Idea of Three nos then go. I think I will try it. The only reason why it is hard is because they are the only friends I have in the whole school. We are a different race then everyone else so we are not accepted into the rest of the peoples groups.

Hmmm......that is too bad. I feel for you. In Sweden, there was really only one skin color. Coming to the US was exciting because it had so many different races. I saw an african american for the first time at the airport! I don't have any friends right now in the united states.

Hey Micheal! Sounds like a tough situation! I agree also with what has been said. Say "no thanks." If they don't understand then what kind of friends are they? Sounds like if they don't understand you are scared of finding a new group because of race? That's racism if others don't accept you and that's hard to deal with I have to admit! There are ways of getting a new group because smoking to fit in can be very dangerous to your health and no one wants that! Yes, it can be addicting at times but there's a time where if it is addicting you see someone about it and talk about what's all on your mind! There are professionals who deal with a lot of those problems! So try maybe talking to them, see what their reaction is, if it turns out bad you have counsellors out there to help you! Good luck!
Signed,
Teddy
