How long does it last? It generally improves by the 13th or 14th week of pregnancy, but some women continue to feel queasy from time to time well into the second trimester.
How can you manage it?
* Munch a few crackers before getting up in the morning. * Eat several small meals a day so that your stomach is never empty. * Avoid anything that causes nausea. * Drink plenty of liquids, especially if you've been vomiting. Try crushed ice, fruit juice or frozen ice pops if water upsets your stomach. * Try wearing a motion sickness band, which may relieve nausea by pressing on an acupressure point inside the wrist. * Suck on hard candy. * Try ginger, which has proved effective in combating morning sickness. Some ways to consume the spice include ginger soda or tea, gingersnaps or ginger in capsule form.

Beefy knows her stuff, lol! I tried the morning sickness band and I hated it. I've tried basically everything on Beefy's list except for the ginger. It helped me to chew on ice or just have a cold washcloth on my head. As far as the actual birth goes, I had lots of nice drugs that the doctors gave me to help with the pain. I would rate it a 3 on a scale of 1-10, 1 being the best and 10 being the worst. I actually fainted halfway into it, lol, so I they had to try really hard to wake me up so I could cut the umbilical cord. Kira was an average sized baby so it wasn't too bad. I was pretty lucky because it's a tradition in my family to breastfeed for the first 4 months....it's kind of a dumb tradition but I did it anyways so I didn't break the chain. It was a pain but I'm glad I did it. The worst part about having a baby: I was up a lot at night! It was really hard to be homeschooled when your nursing, changing or holding a baby. My studies were lacking and that was the bad part. I got caught up after a while though. The best part about having a baby: The joy of watching them grow up. :-*Kira is growing up really fast!

Yesh, I am back finally! It's actually a motion sickness band has a little needle inside and when you feel sick you press down and it's supposed to calm you and make you feel better,

Ruby, I think it's cool that you breastfed your baby! No disrespect to those who don't breastfeed, but breastmilk is really the best food for them.
It's weird, I don't want to get pregnant right now, but I love reading about pregnancy and birth stories -- I love the idea of having a baby!
