What's the difference between bipolar disorder, schizophrenia and multiple personalities?
I've noticed in certain situations I act completely different to my usual self.

Bipolar Dictionary Definition 3. Of or relating to a major affective disorder that is characterized by episodes of mania and depression.
A Bipolar person has mood swings, in an instant they can go from a extremely emotional high being happy and then being crying their eyes out in a split second and then back again. People often refer it to "High Highs and Low Lows", there is rarely any in between.
--
Schizophrenia Dictionary Definition 3. Any of a group of psychotic disorders usually characterized by withdrawal from reality, illogical patterns of thinking, delusions, and hallucinations, and accompanied in varying degrees by other emotional, behavioral, or intellectual disturbances. Schizophrenia is associated with dopamine imbalances in the brain and defects of the frontal lobe and is caused by genetic, other biological, and psychosocial factors.
Schizophrenia is hearing voices telling you what to do, seeing things etc. It would be very scary for anyone who has it.
--
Multiple Personality Dictionary Definition 1. A dissociative disorder in which two or more distinct personalities exist in the same person, each of which prevails at a particular time. Also called split personality.
Think of a person who lives a double life in a way. One minute they think they are robin hood and the next they think they are batman and they litterly believe they are those people while they are in that personalities state of mind. (Robin Hood and Batman are just metaphors)
I'm not exactly sure how much information you are looking for, this is just the basic understanding. If your looking for more I would be more then happy to provide you with that.

Interesting. Thanks a lot.
I don't think I have any of these. I mean, I'm fairly certain everyone goes through phases like mine.

This is exactly right. I don't know. I just feel somedays that I can get away with anything, if I wanted to. Other days I know I definitely won't be able to do those things. I'm not sure why. Mikey, I'm not sure what you mean about the whole 'weekend' thing. I don't do that. It's not just the homophobe/gay thing either. Lately somedays I just have so much confidence, and I yell at my parents, talk to girls (!) that I never talked to before (not intending to do anything). I tell randoms I barely know secrets.. It's so weird. If I do have an alternate personality, I'm gonna call him Milton But seriously, I reckon everyone goes through these 'phases' sometime. I'm not alone. And I'm not panicked either. Everyone's reaction is kind of funny. Oh, and before anyone says anything, I'm not gay.

I doubt you have a split personality! I wake up feeling different every morning. Some I can wake up feeling confident as hell and then the next tierd and grumpy and not-so confident, it usually depends on what type of sleep I have and what Im thinking about but usually if I wake up and listen to my fav songs first thing I feel spectacular thru out the whole day!

Hmm... I'm talking more a deeper-rooted thing. You night not understand. I'm a very, very, very (very) timid person by nature, yet a few days I've been so different. Mikey can back me up on this.
No, I'm going to chalk it up to hormones, or the weather, or something. It can't be a personality disorder. Besides, it's subsided now. Thanks for your help, though, everyone!

ohh and some people with schyzophrenia-sp? they dont know they have it... my mom didnt know they had it until a doctor said... "joanne, your hearing voiced" and she didnt know what that meant till she heard the voice again... so she got put on medication... shes bipolar as well... >_< but thats my mom for ya... anyway... im going through the same thing... although, there is alot wrong with me to begin with... i have MAJOR obsessive compulsive disorder (OCD)... and OCD isnt just thinking about objects... it can also be thinking you have many sicknesses like cancer so you just keep going to the doctor because of it and getting checked out every single time because you cant stop thinking you have this diesease or w/e... but yeah... i dont think its multiple personlity, it could just be hormones, they work in funny ways Lia
