Just a question nothing serious at all lol When you pay rent at first you pay a damage deposit which is half your rent. I paid about 250 dollar. My question is, when u move out and damages are more then what you paid for in damage deposit do you have to pay for the rest? Say the damages were 400 dollar and I only paid 250 would I have to pay the extra 150? Theres been a crack in the bedroom door and the linoleum was wrecked in a spot from moving a chair and Im planning on moving out, I've been here for about 2 years. Thanks to everyone who takes the time to repond

I think it would depends on where you live. Where I am which is Canada you don't have to pay extra they would just take your whole damage deposit and you wouldn't get anything back but, I also know in other parts of Canada some will make you pay whatever the bill is when repairs are done and may take you too court.
